The FurnIT-Saver project started on 1st February 2015 and will run for a period of 14 months.

The project consortium consists of six partners who have secured €952.437,50 of EU funding to develop cutting edge digital solutions based on virtual and augmented reality technologies and automatic recommender engines to produce a smart marketplace for furniture customization. It will enable customers to make accurate 3D plans of the rooms they wish to design, recommend, customise and visualise different furniture, before visualising it in their home environment using augmented reality.

A kick-off meeting was hosted by Fundació Privada ASCAMM in Barcelona on 12th and 13th January.  This provided an opportunity for the partners to meet and to present details of their organisations.

During the remainder of the meeting various issues were discussed which included responsibilities of work package leaders and tasks for the next three months.
